"Future Schools" Project
Cre8ive8 is proud to announce the video coverage of the "Future schools" project in Macedonia.
"Future schools" is a British Council and Microsoft – Partners in Learning joint project running across Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.
The project aims at enhancing the UK’s knowledge and experience and the worldwide Microsoft Partners in Learning program as a source of expertise to contribute to developments in education.

PROJECT 1:
'DigiTales - Tell Your Story'
'DigiTales - Tell Your Story!' is a youth media project that aims to enable young people from diverse communities to express themselves, tell their story and induce a positive impact in the society they live by using a simple media technique known as Digital storytelling. The central issues addressed in the project involve: social inclusion, empowering young people, promoting equal opportunities in the diverse community, active citizenship, as well as unleashing the youth creativity and freedom of thinking.
The main project activities involve organisation of DigiTales workshops during which participants learn how depict their story in a short DigiTale. Basically, the workshops programme is specially designed to help young people gain new skills, learn how to make a short but powerful DigiTale and convey their story and message so that the public can hear it.
The tangible project results are powerful DigiTales which people can see and become aware of what young people have to say. By the end of the course each participant will have the chance to produce a short personal digitale!

PROJECT 2:
'Cre8ive Move'
'Cre8ive Move!' is a project allowing the youth to express their opinions, their views of the world, the problems they encounter, show the problems and their solutions to the world and thus make a change in their surroundings. Although the main aim of the project is to empower young people to take active role in the society, the variety of the subjects they can work on is left to their creativity, and the issues they feel are important to address.
This project aims to give participants knowledge about the Stop-Motion technique which sometimes can be even more appealing than normal filming. Basically the Stop-Motion is used make a creative film from pictures using various of methods.
The tangible project results are powerful Cre8ive Move! which people can see and become aware of what young people have to say. By the end of the course each participant will have learned the Stop-Motion, and couple films will be produced. Afterward the participants can show their skills to their friends and use this technique to express their voice whenever they have an issue to adress.

Cre8ive8 presents:
The "Let's cre8 together" story...
"Let's cre8 together" is a training course that aims to empower young people from different backgrounds to promote the voice of youth through film and media and induce a positive impact on the society in general. This training course, that will take a form of summer camp for creativity, fosters creative media and innovative approaches in inspiring and empowering young people.
The course will take place from 4-11 July in Strumica, Macedonia.
This project brings together 28 young people from Poland, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia who will explore the creative aspects of youth action.
All the participants will get the opportunity to acquire new skills in the field of film making and will be introduced to the importance of active citizenship and participation. Cre8ive8 is especially excited about this event, because it is the first Youth in Action supported project and we belive this to be just the first of the many creative training courses we will host in future.

Cre8ive8 starring in the role of a co production in "She is all that"
"She is all that" (a film based on a Charles Bukowski's story) is the name of the latest projects in which Cre8ive8 took part as a co production. The director is young artist Sofija Teodor who has already tried to break stereotypes and taboos with her previous movie. Cre8ive8 was represented by our crew member Boris Kaeski who operated as a camera assistant.

Cre8ive8 on Itallian Festival
One more recognition to Cre8ive8 work is the invitation to the first edition of “Kunstwollen – L'intenzione dell'arte” exhibition which will take place in Viareggio (8-10 May), a city in Tuscany (Italy) near Pisa and Florence in a new space called 'Laboratorio 21'. There will be painting, sculpture, installation, performance and videoart.
The piece with which Cre8ive8 will be presented is well known "Balkan Cage" short video made by our member Boris Kaeski.
The festival is not of an competitive kind, so being part of this festival is big recognition to us as only participant from this part of the world, also because there was no submitting forms for it.
Cre8ive8 was kindly invited and asked for permission to show the video.

Dual celebration of the creativity!
Celebrating one year of the Cre8ive8 Independence

the official opening of the Cre8ive8 Headquarters.
Through the years many of you have wondered how is it to be in the Cre8ive8 office.
You have all been wondering how far the creativeness of the group might go.
Well get ready to be positively surprised.
Finally on the 12 February, Cre8ive8 opened its creative chambers to its friends and stakeholders. We celebrated the first Cre8ive8 birthday and the new premises located near the Center of Skopje. Yes, one year since the official start of our youth media production. It has been exactly 365 days and nights since Cre8ive8 officially established its independence after four years of existence as a British Council Project. Through out the year we have managed to put our cre8ive touch in many projects and activities that empowered many young people and contributed toward our self-sustainability. And to top it off, at the end we completed the celebration with the ultimately delicious Cre8ive8 birthday cake.
Now, full of energy, we are heading towards new challenges, cooperations and chances to extend the professional dive in the depths of creativity.

Imagine Your Future
Cre8ive8 are delighted to announce the Imagine Your Future Final Screening Event taking place:
on Monday, 23rd February 2009,
starting from 1930h,
in Cinemateque of Macedonia.
The Screening event would successfully complete the DigiTales project circle in Macedonia.
This would be an amazing opportunity for young people to show the DigiTales they have produced to wide audience and to sound their opinions and aspirations for the future.
Basically, during the event, more than 130 guests including people from the public life will have the chance to see all 21 DigiTales created by young people participating in the three DigiTales Workshops. These DigiTales represent the voice of young parentless people, young Roma and Turkish people in Macedonia in a creative and innovative way.
All DigiTales will soon be uploaded.
It will be our pleasure to invite you to watch these pieces of creative work.
The DigiTales are evidence of how young people can use creative media to express their ideas for positive changes and better future.
Imagine Your Future is a British Council project within the Living Together programme which aims to empower and develop young leaders from minority and migrant communities across South East Europe, giving them the tools to articulate their ambitions, promote positive perceptions for their community and contribute to social change. The project provides a platform for sharing their vision with the wider public and increases understanding of minority and migrant lives in Europe.
DigiTales is a digital storytelling project involving young people making short films about their lives. During the 3-day workshops, people learn how to write a script, record a voiceover and edit photos and drawings into a two-minute film.
The seven month project implementation in Macedonia, Sep 08 - March 09, involved organisation of three workshops during which young people gained new skills and were empowered to use the DigiTales technique. The workshops have been organised and managed by young trainers from Cre8ive8 Youth Media Production and strongly supported by Metamorphosis Foundation.

Balkan Cage
"Set us FREE"
Strong desire, but painful truth. It is the feeling that the people from the Balkan's share, while being locked within the Balkan borders and wondering if they will ever have the opportunity to share their values. We, the people from the Balkans, are thirsty for exploration and meeting new cultures, expanding our point of view, and share the common ideals, with the rest of the continent. BalKan Cage is a screaming video which very fast got popularity. The video trigger the state officials to consider the video in the country's efforts for visa liberalization.
This film is an evidence of how creative media can be used by young brains to express their ideas and attitudes and therefore induce a positive difference in the world we live in.
The idea for this video was born while the author was abroad, meeting young people who are can freely explore the world, but not himself.

"Finally, I have the opportunity to share my story" (Suze - Participant). This was a sentence that would reflect the first series of the Imagine Your Future workshops that took place in the premises of Metamorphosis. Eight young people from different backgrounds and with different profiles came together from 15 to 19 October to voice their life stories, stories that not only matter to them, but are also very relevant to the whole world. The participants were given the opportunity to develop new skills and to widen their knowledge about digital storytelling and film making. The event seemed to be the right place to grow new and lasting friendships. At the end, the DigiTales created by the participants were put on screen and each one ended with applause and smiles on everyone's faces. The workshops was facilitated by a training team of Cre8ive8 (Ena, Lex, Martin, Bris, Dzadze & Elena as a host).

Three of our Cre8ive8 members got back from the DigiTales T4T workshop held from 8-12 September 2008 in Haifa, Israel. This training for trainers was organised as a start up of the Imagine Your Future project of the British Council in South East Europe. The training involved participants from Israel, Macedonia, Slovenia, Armenia, and facilitators from UK.
DigiTales is a digital storytelling project involving people making short films about their lives. During the 3-day workshops, people learn how to write a script, record a voiceover and edit photos and drawings into a two-minute film.
It has been a fantastic experience for Cre8ive8. It enabled Cre8ive8 not only to meet people from a variety of cultures & backgrounds, but also to learn more about storytelling and about how a very powerful story can be told by using a technique as simple as Digitale.
Cre8ive8's new task will be to pass that knowledge and experience in Macedonia. For that reason Cre8ive8 are planning to hold three workshops with different marginalised groups and help other people to tell their story. The aim is to enable those people to tell their story and therefore to increse the public awareness about what is really happening with those young people living on the edge in Macedonia. About "e"
The film called "e" aims to show the simplicity and omnipresence of communication. Thus, the film connects a sequence of scenes which do not seem to have anything in common upon first look. The point behind "e", however, is that communication is actually the relation of all that exists, from natural phenomena which man cannot change, to events with are distinctive for humans. This is the precise reason why we used the title "e", meaning "is", because communication simply "is". In other words, we wanted to sent out a message to the audience saying that everything in existence, including our universe, is actually a product of communication. We aimed at making the film as simple as possible, allowing it to make a more important point beyond the obvious.
After all, beauty lies in simplicity :-)
Technical info
The whole clip was created in 2-3 days, and all its components have been created by Cre8ive8 members, including the soundtrack called "Pro-letni lastovicki" that was composed by one of our members.
